Abby and I have just returned from shooting a wedding. Abby’s cousin’s son (is that a second cousin?) Justin Ashford married Mechelle Smith in a twilight ceremony at Judy Taff’s farm east of Duncan, Oklahoma, where Abby’s family has their annual Shoffner Family Reunion in October. The ceremony and reception went off without a hitch, and was lovely. Abby and I both shot well.
It would have been a better time, but Abby is crazy and sick with worry about her sister Gail, who isn’t any better after her ten-day hospital stay for cellulitis. I have tried to reassure her, often failing spectacularly, but it will find its way.
We are home now, and Abby is exhausted and in bed.

First cousin once removed if you wanted to know. When there’s a difference in generation, it’s a “removal.” Here’s a pretty clear explanation: http://www.lifeslittlemysteries.com/26-whats-a-second-cousin-vs-a-first-cousin-once-removed.html (pardon the ads)
Since it is a wedding, I have to re-tell my only wedding joke:
Did you hear about the two antennas who got married? The ceremony was okay, but the reception was fantastic!
