Take an old CD and place it on top of an empty juice glass, data side (the one with no writing) up, in the microwave oven. Turn the microwave oven on and watch for bright white or blue flashes, which should happen in just a few seconds. Turn your microwave oven off after about six seconds. The disk inside should now have a wicked cool lightening-esque pattern etched on it.

It makes a cool coaster, wall hanging, or conversation piece.

Remember, this is dangerous, so don’t do it. If you do decide to try this and something goes wrong, blame a sibling you detest, not me.
