Dream: I am living in a dorm at Oklahoma University, one in which I share a suite with six other guys. It is temporary because my hiking friend Don Ferguson (a real person who I have never actually met) is coming to take me to the airport to go on my Mormon mission. Robert Stinson shows up to help move my stuff out, while I got to urinate. I discover that all the urinals are full of dirty laundry, presumably from my roommates. It then dawns on me that I don’t want to go on the mission because I don’t want to leave Abby for two years.

My mother claims all her dreams are in black and white. I don’t know that I’ve ever dreamed without color… On the other hand, since sight is a function of the brain anyway, the visions in my dreams could easily have been black and white and then simply painted in color by my memory, like an old retouched feature film.
