Drought Pout, or I Would Rather Be Mowing

This spring I was able to celebrate ample rain and green pastures. Since then, however, nearly the entire nation has again been gripped with drought. As I was last year, there have been many wildfires in Oklahoma, but thankfully our county has been spared the worst of it.

Now the pastures here at home and around the county are brown. Walking through them stirs dozens or hundreds of grasshoppers, but little else. I haven’t mowed, or needed to mow, in five weeks, and while it is a lot of work to keep this place mowed in lush seasons, I don’t mind. I would rather be mowing.
