
Abby and I gathered the dogs and headed south for a weekend in Abby’s hometown of Ryan to go through yet more of her late father’s possessions. Abby found the experience quite stressful, particularly since this is her first Father’s Day without her father.
I took it all in stride, although cleaning out the shed was a little like those scenes in Bridge on the River Kwai in which the officers are punished by being put in “the box.”
I did spend a significant amount of the weekend teaching my grand niece-in-law Taylor, who is six, to play baseball. She and I had a terrific time.
