The Barron\u2019s hobbies included traveling and hiking in the adventure playground of the Colorado Plateau, flying, climbing, camping, snow skiing, and writing.<\/p>\n

Richard has been teaching photography<\/a> at the Pontotoc Technology Center<\/a>\u00a0since 2007.<\/p>\n

Abby was a former restaurateur and a retired membership administrator at\u00a0Legal Shield<\/a>\u00a0in Ada. She was also a freelance photographer, shooting photo assignments for newspapers and magazines. Abby died in March 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Abby was married to Paul Milligan for 23 years until his death from cancer in 1992. Paul and Abby’s only daughter, Dawna Michele Milligan-Reeves, lives in the Dallas area with her husband Tom Reeves and their son Paul. Richard was not married before.<\/p>\n

Abby and Richard took their first vacation together,\u00a0The High Road<\/a><\/em>, in July 2003, and in October 2004 were married<\/a> at the majestic Delicate Arch in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.<\/p>\n

In addition to his career as an award-winning news photographer, editor and feature writer, Richard is a licensed private pilot and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, a licensed amateur radio operator (kc5tfz) and member of the Pontotoc County Amateur Radio Association, a member of the American Radio Relay League, a long-time devoted vegetarian, orchardist and gardener, an avid outdoorsman and hiker, a photography teacher, a photography columnist, a magazine editor, Past President of Ada Sunrise Rotary, and webmaster of this web site.<\/p>\n
