I am Richard R. Barron, the Chief Photographer at the Ada Evening News, a daily newspaper in Ada, Oklahoma, as well as Editor and Chief Photographer for Ada Magazine. I am the winner of nearly 100 awards, including the Oklahoma Press Association’s Photographer of the Year (two times), the Associated Press Photography Sweepstakes award (two times),

and the Thomson Newspapers North American Award of Excellence. My hobbies include nature photography, hiking, climbing, camping, flying, music, writing, and film-making. I take most of my vacations in the desert, which includes areas like the Colorado Plateau, where Abby and I got married, the Chihuahuan Desert, New Mexico, and the mountains of Colorado.

Most pages are constructed using Adobe DreamWeaver, Adobe GoLive, and Netscape Composer, though some older pages were assembled using Adobe PageMill. Photos on the site are JPEGs, web-optimized in Adobe Photoshop CS3. Movies on these pages are QuickTime files. This site is viewable at most common screen resolutions, but is optimized for monitors set to at least 1024×768 pixels. Because of the large number of images and movies, a broadband connection is highly recommended. Since there are so many diverse operating systems and web browsers, only you can determine the best for your needs when viewing this site. We use Apple Macintosh computers, and our primary web browser is Safari.
