Tonight was a remarkably good night teaching photography.
As I drove to the vo-tech, I was feeling a little bummed out, since there was rain moving in, with a severe thunderstorm watch in effect. We grabbed our cameras and hustled out to shoot, when the sky just sort of posed for us. When lightning got near, I moved us inside and we had some good discussion, but after the first round of rain quit, we went back out to photograph the sky, then played with flash, then painted with light. The whole time I felt like we were all having fun, learning a lot, and making good pictures. My students were “getting it.” It was a nice feeling.
